Socialprofiler API

Welcome to the Socialprofiler API documentation. This API allows you to analyze social media profiles from Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn to gain insights about users' interests, connections, and activities.

What is Socialprofiler?​

Socialprofiler analyzes public social media profiles to extract:

  • Interests & Categories: What topics and themes a person follows
  • Red Flags: Potentially concerning interest patterns
  • Connections: Friends and mutual interests
  • AI Summary: GPT-generated personality insights

Use Cases​

  • Background Checks: Verify someone's online presence before meeting
  • Dating Safety: Learn about potential dates before meeting in person
  • Business Due Diligence: Research business partners or candidates
  • Parental Monitoring: Understand what your children follow online

API Overview​

The API follows a simple workflow:

1. Authenticate → Get JWT token
2. Create Report → Search for profiles
3. Select Profiles → Choose which to analyze
4. Confirm → Start the analysis
5. Monitor → Track progress via SSE
6. Retrieve → Get the full report

Authentication​

The API uses Bearer Token (JWT). Sign in with your account at /auth/signin to get a token, then send it in the Authorization: Bearer <token> header on each request.

Errors​

Most errors use HTTP status codes with a {"code": <status>, "message": "<text>"} body. The auth endpoints (sign in, sign up, password recovery, Google OAuth) report a field-level failure (wrong password, unknown email, bad promocode) as HTTP 200 with "status": "error" in the body instead — check status, not only the HTTP code. Limits​

Report creation is limited by your subscription plan (report credits); see Error Handling for the 402 response when credits run out.
